Question about the Great Gatsby?
I have a ? about Fitzgerald's message in the book: I know some main interpretations are that wealth causes moral corruption, the American dream is corrupt, etc., but it could also be interpreted to be that the American Dream is ultimately an unreachable fantasy and pursuing it is futile? Because the green light symbolizes the American Dream, what Gatsby is pursuing, but due to his good character traits of love and loyalty (to Daisy), he ends up never fullfilling the dream because he takes the blame for Daisy running over Myrtle and he ends up getting shot by Mr. Wilson?
