Catholicism's practices cult-like?

Catholicism is the easiest to identify as a Christian organized group, yet why are most of the things involved with their "ceremonies" are not of the Bible? Just recently ash Wednesday? Lent? Asking a Priest for forgiveness? Communion treated as literal transformation into Christ's body? Purgatory? Hail Marys? Holy Water? No where in the bible is any of these...anyone understand why its there?
