Did anybody else get the impression that Romeo and Juliet was not supposed to be a grand love story?

I did notice how easily romeo fell in love with juliet after rosaline but I still think its supposed to b a tragic love story... i guess u could b right but even if it seems silly to us to romeo and juliet their love probably felt like the most solid thing ever.
