If you Co-sign for a car what rights do you have to that car?

This is weird how the car lot did this, but I put a down payment on a car and in order for me to get the car they said my dad had to be the owner an me the co-signer because I had no credit, only medical bills. I make the payments on the car, Im 22yrs old, because I moved out my dad is trying to report the car stolen and he has not put any money out for that car! the insurance is in my name also and i make the payments! He doesn't have a copy of the key, every place he signed on the contract I signed right beside it. I have all the papers from the car lot and the fiance company, And they write on my bills that I made the payment not my dad! I have never gotten in trouble or did anything wrong, im just trying to live my life and finish college, if I lose the car i lose what i Have going, If this goes to court do I have a chance in being able to keep the car?
